Nature of Pattern

Lisa A. Frank’s kaleidoscopic designs are like glimpses into an enchanted forest full of fairies, goblins, and rainbow unicorns… or as normal people would say, kinda magical ;) Using snapshots taken during daily walks through the woods, Frank isolates eye-catching details in each shot and then layers them all together to create hypnotic dreamscapes full of vibrant colour and clashing (in a good way) textures. Her background in textile design also helps maintain/restrain a sense of order to patterns that could easily spin out of control. Something I clearly have yet to learn.
