My nerdly love of all things glitchy isn’t exclusively reserved for art, I’m also kinda obsessed with the recent* glitch trend in music. Genres where artists have traditionally prided themselves on smooth production values (eg hip-hop) are remixing little jolts and scratches into their rhythms, and the result is a much more energetic listening experience! Sydney producers QWARMS have pretty much perfected their technique in this remix of Amali Ward’s ‘Leave Me Alone’ (original here). Slick and super breezy while retaining the mellow tone of the original, this is one song that definitely shouldn’t be left alone *rimshot*
* Yes, I know glitch has been around for decades in electronica. NOT THE POINT.
